Holocaust Survivor Gerda Weissmann Klein and Islam Expert Dr. John Esposito Make Our February Programs "Must Dos"

With today being Martin Luther King Day, many people are reflecting on what they can do to make our community and world a better place. We at Project Interfaith believe that becoming more informed and engaged on the issues confronting our community and world is the first step to being able to make a positive difference and have programs this February that give you the opportunity to do just this. We hope you'll join us!

February 23: Internationally-Acclaimed Islam Expert Dr. John Esposito

No doubt you've heard a lot about Islam in the media these days but want to cut through the myths and get the facts about this religion, the most pressing issues occuring within Islam today and how Christian-Muslim relations are evolving in the 21st Century?

Then join us on Tuesday, February 23, 2010 at 7 pm at the Scott Conference Center (6450 Pine Street) for a captivating evening with Dr. John Esposito, one of the most respected and widely-known scholars and authors on Islam and the Founding Director of the Prince Alwaleed bin Talal Center for Muslim-Christian Understanding at the Walsh School of Foreign Service, Georgetown University. In this Community Conversation on Islam and Christian-Muslim Relations in the 21st Century, Dr. Esposito will explore the most critical issues occurring within Islam today and will highlight some of the major milestones, opportunities and challenges confronting Christian-Muslim relations today. Following his community presentation, Dr. Esposito will take questions from the audience. A light reception will be held after his talk where Dr. Esposito will sign books and will be available to meet audience members. The Bookworm Bookstore will be selling his books at this event.
